With both Miss Aiko and her labelmate Mr. Ocean (no Billy) gettin their time in the sun, could it be we’re witnessing the dawn of a new generation of R&B artists? One that focus on actually singing an engaging song instead of flexing their singing muscles non-stop by belting out an assault of pitsch shifts and vocal acrobatics rendering most of their material nearly unlistenable? Fingers crossed.
