When you can get Sho Baraka to sit down in a leopard skin chair for an interview you anticipate having a few laughs. He is the guy who brought us the “Johnnie Cochran” video after all (a subject covered in this clip).

But when we had a chance to chop it up with Sho backstage at Lecrae’s Gravity release concert in Houston we also got to ask about:

  • The rapper’s new Talented Xth album
  • The problem with naming your song “N—a Island”
  • How a man’s blackness is measured in an era where “cornball brother” is still a term discussed on national television
